Project: 24 Commerce Street

Originally hired to turn the interior space of a 1920s bank with a vault on the lower level into a nightclub, the scope of responsibility grew to include rehabilitation of both facades; one dating to 1886, and coordination of capital projects. The building, located in downtown Newark, spans a full block in an area where market forces have been exerting economic pressure, driving this historic city towards revitalization. Working closely with the building’s brokers, we produced design concepts to market the space to potential tenants. Other work included upgrading the lobby finishes and lighting, as well as renovation and development of new office space in the upper floors of the building.
