The continued growth and success of Film Rise made it necessary to relocate to a new larger office space. Growing from the prior 3,200 square foot office space we had designed for them, into a company that needed office space of 10,000 square feet, the decision was to stay in Industry City where they could move to a full floor nearby. As with our first office space for them, for this new larger office space the budget was a driving factor in many of the design decisions. The existing floor is one third concrete and two thirds industrial wood plank. All have been patched and refinished. Being a full floor tenant, the elevator opens directly in to the office space where staff and visitors are welcomed by a pool table and a large eat in kitchen. Much larger functional areas were required for shipping, receiving, editing and archival storage, along with, the additional space for staff. The overall layout consists of a central core of office space ringed by alternating open office space, offices, and large glass conference rooms. The open office areas are along the window walls to allow the most access of natural lighting into the middle of the space. On the far end are conference rooms and office of the partners with views of the water and Manhattan in the distance. New mechanical and electrical conduit lines run exposed throughout the space intermixed with linear LED suspension lighting. The overall space is bright, relaxed and open to allow for free interaction among the staff.
